CT laser for M&P Shield

Tommy Theis will make a holster for it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tommy's stuff looks to be of high quality, but I'd prefer a nice paddle holster.

I emailed Safariland to request a version of their awesome ALS 6378. I use two of the 6378s with my M&P40 (with light and without) and absolutely love them. Ultimately, I'd like to fully convert to Safariland ALS holsters for all my handguns. The locking mechanism is amazingly fast, but it would be nice to have commonality across the board. At some point I plan to buy Safariland holsters for my 1911s too.

My dad has it. Very nice integration. The only thing I don't like is that you can't shoot it without activating the laser. But for a defensive pistol, that's not a problem. For a range gun, if you don't want the laser on, you need to swap back to your regular backstrap.

It also makes the grip a little bit fatter. Feels more like the "large" backstrap that's included in the kit.

I'm waiting for some of the sites that will discount the CT Laserguard for the Shield until I purchase one. One of my favorite sites told me that they expect to have CT Laserguard for the Shield a few weeks after it appears on the CT website. This will be my fifth CT Lasergrip/Laserguard -- with my old eyes, I really appreciate a CT laser on my EDC weapons for night use.

I'm waiting for Crossbreed to have a CT-compatible Supertuck for the Shield. I already have a Crossbreed Minituck for the Shield (non-CT version), but think I will go for the Supertuck for the CT-compatible version.

Safariland replied to my email. They have no current plans to produce holsters for the Shield. :( That is a shame. Since the holster has a locking feature, I'd like to use it across the board for consistency.

Thanks for the replies. My current plan is to wait and see what happens with the holster situation before buying the CT laser.

I have a new Laserguard for my Shield that I ordered from crimsonlaser.com. They have the Laserguard 489 for $170.00. Desantis will be making a Speed Scabbard holster for the Shield equiped with a Laserguard and should be available sometime this month. I expect it will be pricey but the Speed Scabbard's have adjustable retension and are a good looking holster. Probably only available as OWB though.
