CTR Stock Wiggle

I was given a Magpul CTR stock by a friend who had it in his 15-22 (sold it), I attached it and noticed that there is a wiggle. Isn't it supposed to be a snug fit? Any remedy to eliminate the wiggle? Tnx

CTR or MOE?

If you have a CTR (friction lock lever and qd socket) and you still have wiggle, my guess is the friction lock is broken or you have a PTS or a fake.

My CTR locks up tight even at position 6.

The MOE has a little wiggle even if it is real. On my AK I used a small strip of electrical tape. It comes off if you adjust though. I've heard that HVAC tape lasts longer.

im guessing it is the pts. i used electrical tape and put a couple strips on top of each other at the top of the buffer tube. its about 3-4" so at full extension, it doesnt show but its enough to hold it steady. i tried wrapping it around the tube but it was too tight to allow smooth operation.

Yes, it does have the friction lock and the QD socket. I checked the box and nothing says it is the PTS version. Not sure though if it is fake but knowing my friend who gave it to me as a very meticulous person, I doubt if it is fake. Will just probably experiment with a tape like what w0ady posted unless some other forum members have any ideahow to remedy it.
