Jut an FYI for anyone wondering about the current turnaround time from the factory for repairs.
Had to send my 649-1 back to the factory (cylinder release button snapped off at the bolt). Not something I was willing to tackle. I was happy with the turnaround time. S&W received it on 1/17/25 and I got it back on 3/7/25. The cost was $73 while not great, I could live with that.
Last time I sent anything back was in the late 1990s. And that ended in replacement of the gun.
So, I'm glad to see that my favorite J frame didn't take too long to get back.
