Cutting cases to 38 short colt

Has anybody heard of cutting a 38 special case to achieve a 38 short colt case length for easy moon clip loading?

Buy yourself some Starline .38 short colt brass if you want to go that route. It's not hard but it's time consumingn to cut down enough to make it worth your while.

I did it when I started just to give it a test. That was back about 20 years ago.

Although the cases may come out faster, recharging the cylinder is not any faster because it takes the same amount of movement to bring your hand all the way to the back of the cylinder with the .38 short colts as it does with .38s.

If you need load data try Unique or Red Dot. Other guys will give you more data but according to reloading manuals going back many years these are the only two powders that will safely give you minor scoring ammo
