In November of 2020, I posted a thread looking for options an all metal single stack 9MM pistols. Ladder13 posted his CZ 75D Compact. I was rereading the thread a couple of days ago and was intrigued by his 75D Compact.

Today, I stopped at a couple of gun stores and they happen to have one in stock. It came home with me!

Edit: Just added VZ Tactical Diamond grips in black cherry. They greatly improved the trigger reach for me over the stock grips. Will probably add grip tape over the front and rear serrations.

Great pistol. Enjoy.

Been EDCing the PCR version for several years. It makes me a much better shooter than the other choices I've tried.

Edit: Hubby and I both carry the PCR and have put thousands of flawless rounds through each one. Only one minor glitch so far, the Loaded Chamber Indicator Nut worked it's threads loose and got lost during a long range session. CZ sent free replacement. Reinstalled using thread locker.

Pic? And isn't the CZ75 series double stack?

Is the 75D Compact the same as the PCR? Mine came with two 10 round mags. It is not marked PCR; just 75D Compact.

No, I believe the PCR is an alloy frame and the compact is steel.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I have a CZC custom Shadowline compact and love it, great pistolas!

I also believe they make a 10 rounder and a 14 or 15 rounder as well.

The PCR is not marked PCR, it's marked the same as yours. The main difference from a regular compact is the frame is aluminum instead of steel and thus about 4 ounces lighter.
The aluminum frame is visibly thicker where it meets the slide, while the steel frame is flush to the slide sides.

The 10 round mag is for restricted states. It's designed for a 14 round mag.

Edit: just checked, and it seems the steel compact didn't come with the decocker option, only with a safety, so yours is likely the PCR version. The other PCR differences are it comes with the Loaded Chamber Indicator, and anti-snag rear sight.

The P-01 is the compact with a light rail .

I carry the PCR daily. Very reliable and accurate. I would like to do a trigger job, but will probably leave it as is.

The CZ 75 Series are great pistols... one thing that I always recommend is doing the hardened steel firing pin retaining pin upgrade that Cajun Gun Works sells:

61100 Firing Pin Retaining Pin - Cajun Gun Works

Not complicated to do, this video on Youtube shows how to do it and explains why it should be upgraded.

I did the swap on both, my 75BD and PCR, in about 20 minutes.

Overall I like this pistol unbelievably well! It’s DA/SA. The trigger reach is a little long. But after the first shot, reach is perfect in single action. Width and weight are greater than with my Kahr K9. I ordered VZ Tactical Diamond grips in black Cherry. They were out of olive drab. I will eventually order a blackened stainless steel guide rod from ssguiderods. Will also consider doing the hardened firing pin retaining pin. Now to find a holster.

I have had a CZ-75 PCR for several years and am quite pleased with it. It is very easy to shoot and makes night tight clusters right at the point of aim at 15 yards. Regarding replacing the firing pin retaining roll pin with a solid pin, that is really only necessary if you dry fire the gun a lot. It certainly can't hurt to replace it regardless of if you dry fire it a lot anyway but it's not a necessity.

Here's a pic of mine with some aftermarket English walnut stocks and slotted screws. Why CZ uses Philips head screws is beyond me, they look totally out of place on a gun. I'm not a fan of the VZ grips, they make me dizzy just looking at them.

Like many guns, CZ's need some breaking in in order to smooth the trigger action and also the decocker lever was stiff until it had been worked a few hundred times.

Don't forget the standard 14 round magazines, if your not restricted.

A half-inch O-ring from a faucet rebuild kit, placed over the firing pin, is good for dry-fire practice.

Love the grips! Where did you get them?
