Yesterday I stopped at an estate sale and found a cool old leather attache case containing numerous gun cleaning supplies. But what caught my attention was this Dan Wesson .57 barrel shroud that measures 7.25 inches in length. Attached to it is the base for a scope mount marked Beuhler, Orinda, Cal. So I bought the case. I don't have any use for the shroud or the mount. Any idea what it might be worth. I'd like to offer it here on the forum for a very reasonable price and not necessarily what it might be worth. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

That mount was not originally intended for a DW revolver

You need a buyer that already has an 8" DW 357 Magnum barrel assembly.

Then he has to find rings for that brand of mount, which might be an issue. I do not think Manyard Beuhler is still in the scope mount business

The last thins is since this is not a VR barrel shroud, some gunsmith (or hobbyist) had to drill holes in the top rib.

With one hour left to go there is the same 8" barrel shroud with the bids at $91. It has blueing wear on the bottom of the shroud as if it sat on a rag for many years

Admittedly that one at auction is without a scope base, but it could be easier to add a modern base and rings than finding rings for the Beuhler mount you have

Thanks for your informative reply. Actually, the mount was not on the shroud when I bought the box. It was separate. I saw that it fit perfectly to the shroud and I put it on. Really appreciate the info.
