Dan Wesson vs Colt

I have a pm 45, I would not want the slide to frame fit any tighter.
I have a few 1911's, this one is near the top.

From what I've read, the new CZ Colt Gold Cups (70series) have gotten better. Do you prefer Hartford or Norwich stamped on your gun?

I was an instigator in getting Dan Wesson to create a 1911 10mm. The result was the Razorback. I got one of the first ones when they came out.

I liked it so much that I asked Bob Serva if they would make me one in CCO configuration. Bob said it sounded like fun. Before long I had what I believe is the only one in existence.

I have carried and shot the two of them for over twenty years and they are still tight and deadly accurate.

You would be very pleased if you choose Dan Wesson guns.

I have three 1911's all Colt's.
The Lightweight Commander is a great carry gun!
One full size, and a 2nd all steel Commander in 9mm!
If I were to run into a Dan Wesson at the right price I would jump!
There few and far in between around here!

As you may be able to tell, people who own DWs are fanatical about them. There are reasons for that. Most people Ive met who own them also own or have owned many other brands and when they compare them they usually do to much more expensive guns and do so favorably because they are great 1911s.
I own two myself, a Valor in 45acp made 2015 and a Silverback in 10mm from 2017. These things are very well made. Great triggers, the frame and slide are so precisely fitted it almost looks loke one piece, their Duty Treat finish is tougher than woodpecker lips, both shoot better I could ever hope to. All of their parts are made by DW and at least on their top teir models, like mine, one smith builds the gun from beginning to end.
I can't imagine ever parting with either of mine.
