Why would someone want to buy a BCG made by DD, which just claims that the bolt material is stated as "steel", and cost almost $200? The only reason I can see why someone would buy it is just to say,"I have a DD BCG!" WHOOPIE!!!!!!!! :D
Shopping

TOOLCRAFT makes theirs for the military, rifle companies, and ANY firearms dealer that wants to sell them. They are are made better than a DD, yet only cost $80!
AR15 Toolcraft Black Nitride BCG - Monmouth USA

What would you rather, to be cool because you own a $200 BCG that has "DD" stamped on it, or a BCG that is made for the military, rifle companies, costs over $120 less than a DD BCG, etc.? It sure doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out!

Most of the AR-15 snobs that only use THE best components will tell you the Palmetto State Armory Premium BCG is about as good as anything out there and they can be found on sale for about under a hundred bucks.

Toolcraft is ok. At any rate I am a fan of Bravo Company BCG's. Multiple thousands upon thousands of rounds with nary an issue. I'll gladly pay the 170 bucks. It's proven. And it's my money. It's a drop in the bucket compared to my yearly ammo bill. :D

I usually buy the upper with the BCG from PSA. First chance I get, I lube it and run 5 mags rapid fire through them. So far, 3 out of 3 100% function. Joe

Actually DD clearly states on their website...

Why would you say that DD only describes their bolt carrier group as just "steel"?

Not quite sure what you're talking about -- DD bolt carrier groups meet milspec, are proven excellent and among the best in the business.

Why are you looking for specs at PA instead of at the source, DD's site?

Complete Bolt Carrier Group | Daniel Defense

The carrier's 8620 and the bolt's Carpenter 158.

Might want to do your homework before badmouthing a respected brand. ;)

Good advice for the OP, especially before criticizing the purchase decisions of others.

The word ironic comes to mind. ;)

RESPECTED? LMAO! Even looking at DD specs on their sight, and looking at TOOLCRAFTS specs, AND reputation, STILL, I don't need to be a FREAKN' rocket scientist to know that the TCBCG IS the BETTER deal here!
Those of you that have $200 to put out for a NAME on their BCG, I bet you're all members at ARIK'S posted website. Those members there are worse than Glock fanboys! :D
You can buy a BCG worth $5K, that's you! I'm merely stating that the TC BCG will do EVERYTHING that the DD will do, at a MUCH better savings. I mean, I'm not the only one here that likes to save money, am I? And, no, I have no beef against DD, but, I do know a better deal on a BCG when I see it.

Since you had absolutely no idea what you were looking at to begin with, I reckon we can get along without your expertise on DD bolt carrier groups and this thread before it becomes even more argumentative.
