Dating revolver

Can someone help date this revolver for me?

The 4th edition of the S&W Catalog lists S811120 to S999999 between 1945 - 1948. This includes all pre-models 10, 11, and 45. I'm just guessing based on that data that your revolver probably dates somewhere in 1946 or early 47.

S855427 probably shipped in December, 1946, or January, 1947. At least, others in that serial range did.

Could you please report the barrel length to aid in my research on these revolvers? Full length photos of both sides would also help.
