De-spurring a flash chromed hammer

I recently cut the spurs off two flash chromed hammers. The backs of the hammers were then polished and may be glass beaded in the future. Will the chrome plating flake off or discolor where it has been compromised? Or will it stay as good as it looks now?

Hard chrome doesn't flake off like bright nickel.
Since it's bonded directly to the steel, you should have no problems.
Just make sure to keep some lube on the cut area.

Keep it oiled to chase the rust away. It will be fine.
