What gun/ammo is the best defense against a Zombie attack?

I was thinking maybe a .22 caliber rifle, which allows the user to carry up to twice as much ammunition. But maybe something like a Beretta Cx4 Storm semi-auto carbine in 9mm. I guessing you would need allot of ammo. Man to bad about the shortage.

I read that book and I don't think some/most of it is some of the things I would do. I mean for real what gun and ammo. Zombies, disaster, invasion it is all the same thing zobies is just a metaphor.

I don't think there is a right answer to this question, just whatever you feel confident will get the job done.

This is my Zombie combo.

M4 Carbine clone - reasonably light and handy, and M4=Good Guys in the minds of anyone who's recently been in the military. Accessorize as you desire. If you can afford it, put on a light and buy the best ACOG variant that you can afford (the really nice ones cost as much as two Colt M4 clones).

If you're in the plains or mountains, you might want a FAL clone.

Brooks was a comedy writer who cribbed from survival manuals.

If you are talking about guns specifically, those like the mini 14 are best. You must be able to hit a melon sized target out to 100 yards, with a bullet large enough to destroy a brain-like organ covered by a cranium. .223, 30 cal., ect. make fine choices. High capacity is a plus.

Beware. Guns make noise, and noise attracts more zombies. Better to keep moving than to engage if possible.

I had a senior chief explain that to me once. He had a bit more colorful language.

I keep a hefty supply of lumber on hand in case a board up job is necessary. If we're dealing with the Romero zombies (slow types) that'll keep em at bay for a while. The new supercharged variants, well, I'd load up my Town Car with supplies, grab my anti-zombie weaponry (a Colt 6920 with an Eotech, a Glock 21 with Trijicons and a 24" bladed machete) and hit the road for more prosperous ground. I figure the Lincoln makes a good zombie-rammer as it's low slung and heavy as hell. Plus it's roomy in case you pick up a cpl passengers along the way.

That's my .02.

Most normal folk don't like talking about shooting mass amount of poeple in a civil uprising or some kind of attack. Zombies, disaster, invasion it is all the same thing zobies is just a metaphor for those things to discuss in a civilized way, not my fault your to dum to get it, so keep doing whatever you do, and I will keep doing whatever I do, so will everyone else, and from a distance we will all look like a bunch of zombies walking around. LOL
