Guy came back to his parked Jaguar to find somebody taking pictures of it and a note on the windshield from a big construction company. Seems he got in the line of fire of a new office block being built with novel architecture and a lot of glass. Apparently his parking spot, the Sun and the building formed an unfortunate conjunction resulting in parts of his car being MELTED.:eek::eek: That solar energy is dangerous stuff.

Reminds me of the VHS tape a local rental place had on their counter that had been sat on the dashboard of a car. The sun can be pretty nasty especially when its going through or off of glass.

I believe there is a building in Los Angeles that had similar issues. It got a make-over to correct this.

It's an art center I believe.

After what happened to Dick VanDyke (sp?) I hope Jag has a good advertising firm.

I read where you can season a roast and wrap in foil then leave it on your dash in the sun while you're at work and dinner is ready when you get off. I suppose that would work but your car will smell like a side of beef for awhile.

In the Mid 70's, my dad drove a 73 Buick Riviera that was metalic dark brown with a cream vinyl top. One day he stopped by his best friend's office for lunch. The friends secretary went out to dad's car with paper towels and windex, cleaned a spot on the hood of the car (bonnet for British cousins), and proceed to cook hot dogs for her lunch. then cleaned up the spot. Normally the sun just isn't very strong this far north, I had a "solar cigarette lighter" (a concave mirror and a holder at the focal point) but I never could get anything to light! Ivan

They say you could fry eggs on a hot sidewalk or the hood of a car. Well, I knew someone who tried both and all he wound up with is (on the sidewalk) a smelly mess, and on the hood of his car--damage to the paint job.

Bake cookies on the dash at times. Nice to have fresh hot cookies after a stressful day at work. Store bought cookie dough on foil on a black dash in a black car. Came out one day to find people taking photos. One guy asked if he could put his gopro in time lapse mode the next time I did it.
