I am thinking of selling this Python to finance an AR.I have owned this gun for nearly 20 yrs and it was a long sought grail gun for me.I still admire it but it doesn't get shot much and I really have wanted a Smith M&P 15 since they first came out.I am truly torn and I know of the possible regret factor later but I still have all my S&W revolvers to console me.If I would decide to sell it what do you guys think it's worth. Please help me.I know,I know its my decision.Thanks.

IMO, don't sell it, you will regret it down the road. Think of how long you waited to get it and how happy you were when you finally did.

you'll regret it, one day you will miss it and won't be able to replace it, they just keep getting harder to find and the prices keep going up.!!!

do some odd jobs, save as much as you can and then finance the rest to pay off the balance in a few months. don't let go of that gun!!!

You are a howl.I'm gonna be a girl(apologies to our female members)over this for a while.I have sold only two guns in my life.A colt Double Eagle that I hated and a pre 1980 Model 28.The sole regret being the Highway Patrolman,to this day.I want to take my time and decide and thought I'd throw this out there and see what the opinions were.If I decide to sell I will probably put it on the Forum but I am still aways from that.I hope you can forgive me.I hate being indecisive.

Hello tacreload, I vote: DON'T DO IT ! ARs are COMMONLY available, Pythons are NOT. I have done similar things and Always regretted getting rid of one of my good, usually out of production/collectible/not commonly available, etc.,guns. I never had a Python, but traded away/ sold several SIG P210s,a 98% prewar National Match Colt and others, to finance something else I just had to have. Usually turned out to be very unrewarding. Very difficult/expensive/impossible to replace these guns and others now....

Selling it might make you happy in the short run, but later on, you will regret it ! Better to save up for a while for a common rifle, than to sell a rare example .........
Don't do it !

Since no one else answered your question, It would go for roughly $1,200s. I have two of them, one identical.

When in doubt,DON'T!

You can get an AR anywhere, that Colt would be hard to replace. You said it was one of your grail guns as well, sounds like you would miss it very soon. I have always regretted selling a gun to replace it with another. Just my two cents

Send the gun to me, and I'll keep it for a month or two to see if you miss it. If you don't, then I'll send it back for you to sell.

Of course, I'll have to take her to the range a time or twelve while I have it.

I got rid of a Python back during the AW ban for a pre-ban Glock 22 to use for a Reserve PD job. I was a fool and still regret that dumb move. I say don't do it. You can put together a decent AR for 6-700 if you shop around.

If you still want to get rid of it let me know....I miss mine.

.....whatever you might get from it will seem way too cheap after the AR proves to be less entertaining than you thought it would be....

Tough Love! Are you out of your mind? AR's a dime a dozen, they have not value or class. Kinda like a Glock

Start a savings program, look in the couch cushions, look in you change jar.

I'll give you $650.;)
