I recently read a story, purportedly a true story, about a fellow who successfully hunted a deer while in the woods with nothing but his grandaughter, two horses, and a pocket knife. To be sure, only the pocket knife played a role in the hunt itself.
He did not intend to go hunting that day, but, coming across the deer, and needing the meat, he went after it.
The story was published in the New York Times about a week ago. It is an interesting read, although why the deer allowed this sort of hunting I have no idea. So, maybe it did not happen? But the writer of the story, the hunter's grandson, certainly believes it.
If you google New York Times, grandfather, deer, etc., it should pop right up. I am curious as to what others think about the veracity of this family tale.
