Shot this buck Saturday morning. Hit him good, but as often happens,he ran. Only went about 50 yards, but it was into a very thick cutover. While tracking him,I stepped into a stump hole and injured my knee. Had to call for help to get him AND me back to the truck. Can hardly walk. Guess I'll have to go see the doc tomorrow. Broken back 4 years ago when I fell from a stand, now this. Damned deer.

Dang Bobby. Sure hope your ok. Obviously better shape than the deer. Shot placement looks ideal. Keep us posted.

Lets see you fell from a tree stand and broke you back, shot a deer, fell in a hole injured you knee. What next fall out of a tree and on be impaled the horns of a buck? If I were you I would stop hunting.

My first buck this year, I grew up in Phoenix . Nice buck, I have a freezer full this year. A good friend loves to hunt but not a big fan of the venison so he gave me his kill. I could eat that stuff everyday.

Well, the multiquote function is apparently still on the fritz for me. I hunt primarily in Lee County Mike, along the Lynches River. As to my stopping hunting, that is NOT an option. ;) It's a shame all of the BIG deer have migrated to Tennessee,so I have to content myself with these little ones in my old age Lee. :p

Now Bobby those really Big deer didn't linger in Tennessee, they took a leak, and came on over to hide out in the Ozarks.

Hope your not hurt too bad!

Nice rack!

First, congratulations on harvesting a outstanding buck. I've been deer hunting off and on since 1983. I've seen folks get nice bucks. Yours is very nice indeed.

Read with regret of your knee injury. Hopefully it is not serious. May God bless you with a quick recovery. After all, you've got a buck to process! Sincerely. brucev.

Nice Fat Buck with good rack Tom. Where did you hit him? I see the blood in the heart area but what is the mark dead center of the shoulder?

That's an old wound that I couldn't figure out. The lower one is the exit wound. Apparently, the bullet hit a bone and fragmented upon impact or was deflected downward. Your guess is as good as mine.

Hah! I feel your pain. Took this little 7 point buck a couple of weeks ago. My usual spots I hunt on the farm were just not producing, so I took my climber waaay down into what we call 'a bottom' here in the Carolinas. Very wet.

Took the buck with the little Rossi .357 carbine just at last light.
Got down, took my climber off the tree, reassembled it, got it on my back (~30 lbs) and began dragging the buck, who was DRT.
Oh my gosh....ground was wet, no surprise.
I'd drag 'n slip. Stop. Rest. Drag 'n slip. Stop. Rest repeat MANY times.

Had a scale when I hoisted him at the shop for cleaning. 150 lbs. Not huge, but at one point in the drag I was beginning to guess 250.

This gettin' old is not alot of fun.

Nice buck, sorry about your knee and back last year. Hope you recovered fully from the back and you only twisted your knee and will make a complete recovery. I know how knees can put a hurtin'on ya. Waiting for a knee replace myself now from a twisted knee 12 years ago that never got better.

Be safer next year.:D

Old Corp, minor correction if I may. Gettin old is not alot fun". Gettin old was fun, being old ain't no fun. How is knee today Bobby?
