Anyone in DE? Knows the law for carry.... looks like we can open carry, but can't find any official state.doc that backs it up.... only conceal carry info that I can't do since I only have nj & pa conceal...

Do you have any DE gun stores you've patronized? Many LGS are staffed by folks who are knowledgeable. I've purchased guns online from 2 stores in New Castle DE, they seem to know the ins and outs.

I am not the most "up to date", as I moved from DE, back to PA, in 2019
However, I did hold my DE CCDW from 1991 to 2019
I highly suggest you get a Utah, or one of the other State Permits that DE recognizes, such as Fla., W.V., Arizona, etc..
I obtained my Utah Permit, just after moving back to PA, as I still travel to DE regularly
To the best of my knowledge, DE still is an "open carry" State
I NEVER "open carried" in DE, nor would I EVER, as there are far too many "Karens", and anti-gun folks, in DE
Having said that, the past few years has seen MANY changes in DE Firearm laws, but again, as far as I'm aware, "open carry" is still legal

Gotcha... I have paperwork to mail for FL..... I did call one of the FFL.... Open Carry, but banned at the malls now.... Christina mall is suppose to be using K9's..... we at least put them out in the open in the car just now while in the state.
Unfortunately DE continues to tighten the noose on gun owners / dealers. The 2 dealers I've dealt with in New Castle are finding that in order to survive, then have to sell online.
As to the Christiana Mall, yes, they supposedly have "firearm sniffing" K9's, per large posters outside of the mall when I was last there, earlier this year.

well after reading the information at Delaware Attorney General guidelines it should be called the
"Juggle 3 bowling balls while keeping 4 hula hoops spinning while eating a footlong hotdog with a fork" concealed carry law.

the last Ive delt with is De is open carry BUT! beware of Karens that like to "call in" and are concerned...So unless you ant to have a credit check done I would strongly advise against it...and as far as Christiana mall, lots of problems there with youth and with school closing soon for summer Im sure there will be strong police presence.....Delaware State police are known for running LPR's,Intersection traffic cams (BIG TIME) facial recognition at toll booths.and other surveilance....So GLAD I MOVED AWAY!!!

I'm not sure when you held your DE CCDW (It is NOT a CDWL), but I held a DE CCDW from 1991 to 2019
As to current process to obtain a DE CCDW, it is MUCH easier then when I went through the process in 1991
I believe the current class for a DE CCDW is 8 hours, or less
In 1991, the class I was required to take was 20 hours
The current requirements are "5 citizens of the county the applicant resides in"
In 1991 the requirements were "5 registered voters, in the applicants voting district" that had to be verified by the Dept. of Elections, let me tell you what a joy that was to deal with (I'll include a copy of the Instructions for Application paperwork below)

Florida will work, however, I think you will find that MOST people have found the Utah CFP is a "better" option, as it only requires fingerprints the First time you apply, recerts are completely on-line, with no further fingerprints required
Unless Florida has recently changed, they require fingerprints with each recertification application
I know many folks that let their FLA go, and have gotten Utah CFP
Also, many Utah courses include, with the class, your fingerprints and photo required, truly "one stop shopping"

Note: DE does not recognize any non-res permits for DE residents. CAUTION: There have been reports from the Delaware State Police that they will not recognize any non-resident permits. This is in conflict with the Delaware Attorney General's Office, which specifically recognized non-res permits (for those who are not Delaware residents. )
I can only share my experience, as a FORMER resident of Delaware, from 1988 to 2019 and having held a DE CCDW from 1991 to 2019 (28 years)
Yes, you are correct that a DE RESIDENT, can NOT use a Non-Resident "carry permit" from another state, to carry in DE
I am unaware of any Non-Resident having problems with using a Non-Resident carry permit, in DE (certainly may have happened, but I'm unaware of such, and I try to "keep up" with such things)
I am aware, many years ago (early 1990's, IIRC), of an "out of State LEO" that ran into problems after "pulling" his firearm, in New Castle Co., I believe it was eventually resolved in favor of the LEO
I use caution with ANY of the "on-line firearm laws" sites, as I've found at least some inaccurate info, in almost all that I've ever seen/used

Okay just my 2 cents as a retired LEO, here in De. We are an open carry state but highly advise against it, as many have said too many Karens, then the school zones, hospitals etc. Yes, there are some ccdw permits recognized for non residences. The bestest place to get info is the AG’s office and firearms sales First State Firearms in NCC, De. No affiliation but have only good experience with them.

The Utah non resident permit is pretty simple to get. Seems to me if a non resident with a Utah permit were carrying concealed, in the unlikely event that this lead to an issue, the statement from the attorney general’s office in post #8 would make a pretty good defense.

Looks like Utah wins the chicken dinner... thanks..... this fingerprints card, I can do that and mail in or need an actual 3rd party?
Again, look into the Utah courses that "combine" the fingerprints and photo, the one I took did this
They also had you fill out your paperwork there, together, so it was done correctly
Becomes a 1 stop shopping course!
The Utah course I took, at the DE Cabela's, was by a guy from NJ (IIRC)
I think you need a third party. I recall using a fingerprint service …. woman came to my house with a brief case, took my prints and gave me the card(s) to mail off, if I recall correctly. That was over 20 years ago though. Maybe call up Utah Bureau of Criminal Investigation, at 801-965-4445 per the back of my card, and ask.
ETA: Just read above. I took my Utah course in Hawaii. It was my first CCW permit. Might be different rules for aquisition if you already have another state’s resident permit. I don’t know.

Yes. They do. EG they recognize Utah permits.
