Steve - I just picked one up over the T-giving sales. Haven't shot it yet as I'm waiting for an ammo delivery (62 gr. should be tomorrow!).

I did my research on this and came to the same conclusions you seemed to. Wanted a mid and the 1/8 twist.

My first AR so no real experience beside a lot of reading and research.

Did you ever float your barrel?

While it's the only AR I've owned, my mid moe has been flawless. Very happy with my choice.

+1. Mine has been flawless with every ammo I put through it including the commie ammo.. You know, sometimes you just have to show them commies some freedom

I've been looking for my first AR for a couple of months now. I'm amazed at the choices. But I was in a Cabelas and handled a M&P15 MID MOE and was very impressed with the feel. The f&f was very nice. Then I started reading about mid lenght ARs and was overwhelmed with more info on ARs. With all the OR, SRC and other choices without any sights at all, I'm about to decide on the MID MOE when I see one on sale. And be done with the choosing.

Bought mine from Quantico Tactical under the LE/Mil discount they are selling for $899 I think I paid 870 when I got mine. Love the gun it will shoot a MOA all day.

Hey guys I know this is the wrong thread but I'm new to this and I need some quick help. I ordered a magpul mid-length handguard and it doesn't fit what so ever . So will the carbine length handguard only fit on my sport or can I somehow make my mid length one fit I like the mid length way better. Help please

The Sport has a carbine length gas system. For a drop in replacement hand guard, you must order the carbine length.

The mid length on the MOE refers to the length of the gas system. The gas port and gas block are further from the receiver with a mid length vs. a carbine.

I was told I could get a low profile gas block but that's as far as I'm at on information. I don't want the carbine length doesn't feel comfortable.

I bought a Sport as a cheap plinker and hated the carbine length handguard. Replaced the handguard/A2 front post with this:

...and enjoy shooting it a lot more. Installed an adjustable low pro gas block and can tune it to match the load. Shoots more like a mid-length now.

i have one and shot it first time yesterday. trigger is awful and accuracy is awesome for a 16 inch barrel. i was shooting groups about a eight of an inch apart at 50 yards with match ammo (not the **** zq ammo i had) i was going to switch out the trigger and then go to a hundred but my drop in trigger would not go in without removing the ambi bolt catch. all the controls are stiff except safety and u should expect a long break in...also i was going to suppress this but silencerco adapter would not thread on. my gunsmith is going to have to figure out this problem. the gun is good for the money but needs refinement in my opinion

the gun does not rattle and is very tight in terms of the bolt in upper receiver. anyone who shoots a lot know that this will wear in. be sure to apply a lot of oil to the bolt at first. i shot about 100 rounds and then had to apply oil again for it to run with zq ammo. this gun will be a work in progress but all the right parts are there to refine to a great weapon.
