I hope I'm posting this in the right section.

I'm a newer M&P 15 Sport ii owner and am looking at doing some M4/AR15 builds.

However, I'm having trouble pulling my delta rings by hand to change the hand guards. It's not a matter of strength, because I tried with both hands and even lubricated the springs.

Googling Delta Ring Tools led me to the Wheeler Delta Ring Tool, but two reviewers on Brownell's gave credible, detailed descriptions about their dissatisfaction with this brand.

Can you recommend brand(s) and vendor(s) for a good Delta Ring Tool?

Thanks in advance.

Some Delta rings can be tougher than others and some are a real bugger to manipulate. But it more about technique than it is strength to get them to move far enough to remove the handguards. Try just doing one side (well, top or bottom) at a time instead of pulling the entire Delta Ring down at once. You can usually get whatever half of the handguard you're working on to pop out just a little, then pull that side down a little harder and pull that half of handguard completely off. It's easier to demonstrate then it is to explain. It takes a little finesse' but once you get the hang of it you won't need a tool.

I have removed and installed lot's of AR hand guards, have never used a tool. Great advice above, concentrate on getting one side out first and then the other side should be no problem.
