I dug out a set of stocks that came on a revolver I purchased awhile back. They are very rough, having been refinished by a ham-handed fan of 60-grit sandpaper. I am attempting to restore what little I can of them.
They are K-frame, target grips, diamond-center, football cut-out, and appear to be made of walnut.
When would these have been issued by S&W? If they come out nice, I'm wondering what I could put them on and have them be correct.

As a general rule, walnut target stocks were factory installed on guns to be used for bullseye competition. IE: models 17, 14 and 25. Also the model 28, Highway Patrolman. I have seen thus continue into the 1980s. Of course, Gonzala Alves stocks could be special ordered any time after 1955.
