We just watched the 2014 movie Whiplash where TV Allstate insurance guy J.K. Simmons was absolutely phenomenal and won a much deserved academy award for it. SPOILER ALERT!!!!! If you didn't see it, stop reading this:
At the very end I think the tyrannical music teacher was just out for pure revenge. Or was he? He seemed really sincere in his quest to find a true musical prodigy. Was what he did at the end revenge, or an effort to push this kid to do what he knew he had in him? I think it was revenge. But that revenge evaporated in the teacher and he was thrilled with what the kid did, which is exactly what he demanded from his students in the first place, but only achieved once before with tragic results. what say you?
