Howdy everybody, I have owned probably 50 to 75 S&W revolvers, but never one before where I am certain that the DA trigger pull is not the same on all chambers. It's a steel frame centennial, and to rotate the cylinder 5 times there are two easy pulls, one medium, and two pretty hard trigger pulls. What could be causing that? Thanks...

Binding of the action during DA pull can be caused by several things:

1. bent extrator rod/center pin.
2. burrs on ratchet teeth.
3. dirt or unburned powder uner extractor star.
4. fouling on barrel breech *forcing cone* that closes up the b-c gap.
5. irregular cartridge case head clearance.

Thanks John. It is #1, which I figured out last night by spinning the cylinder and watching the front of the extractor rod wobble slightly. I knew this gun had been dropped when bought it, due to a couple cosmetic issues, but now I know the cylinder was open and rod exposed when it hit. Thanks again...

Actually, it can happen when the cylinder is closed. Especially if it hits hard on the right side of the cylinder, it will often bend the ejector rod. Glad it turned out to be an easy fix, though!
