I've shot Sellier & Bellot ammo in several different calibers with good results over the years, but I recently shot some 380 acp that I bought a couple of years ago and was really disappointed. I had 3 boxes, all from the same lot, that had numerous problems feeding and fail to fires.

At first I thought it was my pistol (Kahr P380) but I put some through my PPKs, that has always "eaten" everything I've fed it, & had the same results!!! I later shot some Winchester and Magtech through both guns with nary a hic-up.......so, it looks like the Sellier & Bellot was the culpret!! :(

I'm sorry that I didn't record the lot# before I trashed the boxes or I would have passed that info on to everyone to be on the lookout for that lot. :o

I tend to avoid all S&B stuff. I have had a history of FTF's with S&B magnums. And not due to light primer strikes either

I've never had any problems with their 9mm other than it being really dirty

I use the S&B .38spc 158 FMJ for target work with no issues. No hard primers.

I ran about a dozen through the screen out of one of my Model 15's and they averaged right at 980 fps....pretty stout .38 factory round.

Accuracy was very good too.

The only problem I've had with any S&B ammo was with their .357 Sig ammo. I had about a 10-20% failure to fire rate with my Glocks, for an entire 500 rounds. I've had excellent results with all other calibers.

Like you ... I've had good results in the past with Sellier & Bellot .38spc & .357mag ammo, but when I shot this "lot" of .380acp I had lots of "fail-to-ejects" , fail-to-feed" and "fail-to-fires"....on the "fail-to-fires" it would always fire on the 2nd try. This was using 2 different guns and the same thing happened with both.

Both the Kahr and Walther PPKs were good-to-go with Magtech and Winchester ammo I shot that day.

Like anything made today, you can get a lemon, but it was still problematic when all 3 boxes of ammo from that lot gave the same poor results...........$$ wasted & confidence in their product now questionable IMO.

I have shot a lot of S&B over the years and I think they're not as good as they used to be. I recently tried to shoot some 9mm 115 grain and for the first time in my experience I had constant problems in both my Walther PPQ and my H&K P30, as well as my Sig 938.
I'll never buy anymore.

9mm 380 both have worked flaws levy in my melted 380 and my s&w 9mm sigmas and sd. A bit dirty but good ammo, no problems.

Had the same grief from their .357 stuff about 3 years ago. Some went off on the second try. Some didn't. Not the gun(s)' fault. One round I tried in 2 different M28s and a Colt Lawman until the firing pins finally wore a hole in the primer. Pure dud. The bad taste of poor performance overcame the lure of (slightly) lower price. Haven't bought any since.
