This is now the second time in six months that DISH TV has tried to put the squeeze on subscribers.....First it was Turner that has CNN and some other stations. They finally came to a agreement. Now it is DISH TV....Multa Millionaires fighting and in doing so crapping on the subscribers..Now I like DISH basically because of FOX, and it is FOX who is off the air now......I have now been relegated to watching CNN for news...Not bad news coverage a little liberal for my taste, but I am right of Attila the Hun.......CNN is a little better for hard news where FOX can be more of a opinion news cast. The fact is DISH has become a squeeze play game with all their subscribers...I guess I could go to DIRECT however their service is spotty in our neighborhood. I sure wish these multa millionaires would get their stuff at least fair with their subscribers...Anybody have any other choices, NOT cable as ours is unreliable...Any help or advice will be appreciated...

I'm the the same fix as you. Not a happy camper.

It is not like the service from any of the providers is in expensive....Most of the movies if you subscribe are re runs of re runs....a awful lot of the channels are pro mo's or flat out out commercials...I like history, and most of the informational shows.....It is getting so bad I'm actually watching some white haired guy run around the great North West like a monkey...The gun shows seem to be non existent anymore...I find myself asking myself "are you dumb" I guess I am as regular TV is almost non existent anymore......Not like the dish and cable guys are not making money ....people and corporations pay to place that stuff on the stations...It is hard to get any of the services for less than 100.00 per month, unless you believe their commercials..I am 76 now and it is cold outside.....I am hooked I guess........Just a fair shot would be nice.....If I see that clown from DISH network explaining why they can't get it together with FOX I think I will use TV as target practice..well I'm not that bad yet...Funny thing it seems that it has not hurt FOX one bit as their ratings just went up again...without DISH........Winter blues I guess.....

Dish...Direct....and ALL the rest....expensive, little entertainment value.......they charge BIG $$$ so YOU can watch vacuum ads, diet stuff and lots o reruns............

back in the day we had 4 channels of enjoyable watching @ NO CHARGE.............now with the cable/satellite dudes we get 157 channels............with 4 channels of enjoyable watching. @ $$$.........

You forgot to mention TV Guide:(

Back then we had to plan TV watching for the day in advance.

We were in good shape though, always getting off our butts to change that channel, I wonder how many miles I put on just doing that.;)

We dumped our Dish Network subscription 2 1/2 years ago and now only access shows through the Internet either directly or by our subscription to Amazon Prime and Netflix. YouTube and Hulu have some full length episode older TV shows such as Combat! For news, we either access local news via an antenna or national/ international via any of the free stuff on the Internet.

I don't miss Dish at all. Sports is probably the only programming we're short of, but I was never into 45 NFL or NBA channels anyway. I'd rather go upland hunting than watch overpaid whiners chest bump just because they made it from the sidelines to the line of scrimmage

yeah I'm another po'd dish customer.
I have 200 channels or so and only watch about 6 of them and fox news is one of those 6.
It's my dish anniversary today, I've had dish since jan 2, 2000.
15 years of high prices and crappy service, I guess i'll never learn

Unhappy with "Dish Network"?

Same here, I called them and had a very nice adjustment to my cost of watching TV. I did enjoy a daily fix of FOX but have always been annoyed/unsatisfied by the members of the panels or the guests continually interrupting each other to the point that I could not understand what anyone was saying, make the call, you will never know unless you do.

direct tv does this all of the time also. i plan on going back to dish because i don't like direct tv. i don't watch any of the news stations. they all are terrible.

I fear they are all what they planned to be...a money hole for subscribers..Now we are hooked....I timed the commercials on a fairly popular show some time back...26 minutes of the actual show...I lost count of the commercials, sometimes they even run over each other..I have seen breaking big time news interrupted by a commercial..

I don’t know if it would work, but the programing is why I support the alacart programing that that died in congress thanks to the industry lobbyists. I would love to only have to pay for the channels I actually watch.

Just like SPAD124, I cut the cord on cable TV. Got REAL tired of my cable bills going up, up, up. Now I have cable phone, high speed internet, a wifi, ROKU, Netflex and a flat panel indoor boosted antenna. I get more than I can watch plus local over the air TV and my bill has gone from $175/month to $71/month. Another thing I have gotten from cutting the cable TV cord is a lot of phone calls from my cable company practically begging me to signup again for one of their truly wonderful cable TV packages. I get a real satisfaction from politely telling them "no thank you" and then hanging up.

I have subscribed to both dish and direct. There is not a nickel's worth of difference between them. Direct has won out only because the signal is just slightly better here.

The cable company has not rebuilt their system since the fire of 2011 and have no plan to do so in the near future. As a result I am stuck with one of the satellite providers for the foreseeable future.

I didn't even miss CNN when it was off. I did miss Turner Classic Movies.

I am just going to wait them out - FOX will be back. At least I can watch Glenn Beck and BlazeTV on DISH until FOX comes back.

I also cut the cord; Antenna + Netflix + Amazon Prime = $100 a month more in my pocket for Ammo.
