I have a friend that is making a gun room/man cave. He wants to be able to display some of his wares, whether it be handguns, knives, holsters, ammo, or all of the above. He says he is not worried about security (has it taken care of:rolleyes:) like I would be. He is looking for some display cases /cabinets like you find in the local gun stores that won't break the bank. I suggested looking for stores that are closing, and trying to buy what they have. He has tried some of that, but says most places have sold off their cases before "the general public" knows they are closing. I would be afraid that I would buy something and put a few guns on the glass shelf, only to have it break under the weight. But the gun shops do it, maybe they have to get something specially made. You folks got any ideas?
Thanks.

That glass on the top of the cases are, I think, tempered glass. Pretty hard to break. If it breaks you can always get a 3/8" piece of plexigl*** cut to fit the void. I've seen a lot of cases you describe on Craig's list. It's worth a shot.

Depends on where you live. Know a store in JAX that sells used store fixtures, they have all types of “ store fixtures”. Prices are kinda high but if you want it you have to pay their price.

I use Meadows for home display. Great wood selection. I've been getting them at The Blade Show here in ATL, which is convenient for me. For the shows I use Jomar. A little pricy but sturdy tempered glass. For the man cave I would recommend Meadows.
