There has been news and discussion about Paypal, certain banks and certain credit companies not allowing firearm purchases. Let's not talk about how we feel about that.

On the other hand, I am curious if the credit card companies will generally stand behind a gun purchaser when a gun paid for by credit card to a gunbroker seller does not arrive at the local FFL safe and sound. One potential problem is that there could be fine print in the credit card agreement that excludes coverage for firearm purchases, or which requires the purchaser to go through some hoops before coverage kicks in.

What about 90 day purchase protection for lost or stolen? That would be a fun claim, and maybe a great lawsuit.

I would think if their policy (in writing) states they will stand behind a purchase they would be force to unless specifically excluded in writing. While they might not like to, I don't think they would have much of a choice - but once again, they could exclude firearms in writing. That is something you would need to read their long winded legal disclosure that we all have to "agree" with. Good luck with that! :(

All the cardmember agreements are different, and vary based on the laws of your state and country.

In the world of CC agreements, "arrive" and "safe and sound", can be two different protections.

Even cards that exclude firearms from certain enhanced purchase protections regarding an item's condition, warranty extension, return, and theft, will still protect you from not receiving anything at all for your money.
