I assume this being the S&W forum revolver section most people here carry a revolver for CCW, but perhaps not.

What do you carry; revolver or auto? If revolver, what is your primary carry?

I frequently carry an auto, but when I carry a revolver it is usually a 642 with +P hollow points. I have recently acquired a Colt Agent, and it will see some carry duty as well when I get a few more rounds through it. It's not a Smith, but it has 6 rounds vs 5.

My normal carry gun is a . 38 Super Colt Lightweight Commander that I converted to Winchester 9x23. However, my wife and I do a lot of riding on our Harley-Davidson Electra Glide during the summer months. While on the bike and at other times when it's inconvenient to carry the Commander, I'm carrying either my Model 37-1 or a Charter Arms .44 Bulldog Pug. The Smith .38 Special is loaded with Buffalo Bore Standard Pressure, Short Barrel 158 gr. LSWCHP's while the Bulldog .44 Special is stoked with Win. 200 gr. Silvertips.

normally a Kahr PM9 collects the most lint from my pants pocket but, during jacket season, I've been known to carry my 65-5 4" with a "kitchen table" hammer bob, trigger job, and melt down.

My usualy carry piece is a DA 9MM but I have carried revolvers for years and still do on occasion. I like the Model 40 very much but I have also packed a 2" M64 and even a 3.5" Post-War magnum and once in a while when I am in a silly mood I carry a 4" Registered Magnum.

IMHO, anyone who TRULY carries on daily basis has a J-frame in the rotation stable -- if not their 95% gun they carry (like most I know, but we live in hot weather area too).

A 2" Model 64, .38 Special most days, cairried in a Don hume JIT Slide, with a spare HKS speedloader on the belt in a Wild Bill's concealment speedloader pouch.

Sometimes a 4" Model 66 .357 in a Wild Bill's "Summer Special" IWB holster.
