Do you get any EARLY Renewal Requests?

This is August, but I have already received TWO AARP Membership Renewal Forms (i.e. Send Money) for my Dues.

My membership is paid up thru January 2020.

I think this is rushing the fleecing of the sheep.

I would think that most on here would avoid sending money to AARP!-

I don't understand this. Seriously. If you consider yourself as being fleeced by the AARP, why did you join up in the first place?

The AARP sends me stuff ALL the time.Last letter started off with HELLO SENIOR, that in itself did not score any points.Everything that they send is torn up and returned in their pre paid envelope.Back to the topic Sirius radio is almost at the Stalker stage with us, once they get your info you have a friend for life.Bought a new truck and they will give a 3 month extension for satellite radio for a processing fee of only $2.00 but need to act quick.Told the guy I am in where do I send the check, he says only credit cards for this deal, I wonder why? I am not too worried I know I will hear from them again soon.

AARP started buggin' me when I turned 55. I held their first solicitation in my hand, turned to Ms. Judy and exclaimed, "There!! This proves it!! I'm old!!"

The dear thing tried to console me and replied, "You're not old, Honey. You're middle-aged."

"Middle-aged!!" I said. "Just how many 110-year-old guys do you actually know??":D

We subscribe to several magazines. I have an index card on each one. I log when I renew, for how long, and how much it costs.

Some subscriptions we have cancelled over ten years ago still solicit us. I don't even open the envelopes.

Why I am with AARP - Insurance Rates!

Why I am with AARP - Insurance Rates!

AARP gave me much better rate.
They seem to understand that with only two drivers and four vehicles; not all vehicles would be at risk all the time.

I had TRIED to get a better rate from the agent I had dealt with for several years. He did not event get back with me.

Tried a few other companies.

I fully understand that AARP is quite selective in their membership requirements - NOT!

My long deceased cat has gotten several Temporary Membership cards from AARP.
He might have qualified, in kitty years, before passing.

Interestingly enough, I'm pretty sure you can tape that envelope to a box with the brick in it, and it will get mailed to AARP. We used to get copy paper boxes full of files with our Yankee Gov't postage paid envelopes taped to the outside. . .

I used to send pages from Shotgun News and American Rifleman back to AARP in their pre paid envelope.
I would have sent a brick if it fit. :D

Nothing from them lately.

if there are prepaid envelopes I just mail a bunch of stuff back to them. there probably have a machine opens the envelopes but somebody has to see what is in them

You can drop your AARP membership once you have your AARP endorsed policy and your insurance rate will not change.

AARP is not an insurance company.....they only endorse certain companies and allow them to solicit policy holders from the AARP membership list, usually at a slightly lower rate. Once the policy is in effect and as long as you pay to renew the insurance policy you will get the AARP rate even if you are no longer an AARP member. I know a lot of folks that joined AARP to get the lower insurance rate and then dropped their AARP membership with no affect to their insurance rate or coverage.

The NRA is a LOT worse than AARP in my house. NRA has even started using ghost phone numbers calling for money.
