My local place has a Remington 887 Tactical 12 gauge pump for a pretty low price ($149 before the requisite dickering).

It is an odd duck for sure. It looks like it is made of plastic, but apparently it is some kind of shotgun body armor. Works with 3 1/2" and shorter shells. If that doesn't get the job done, I can poke them with this scary muzzle.

It has good reviews, and bad reviews. It was discontinued around 2010 or so.

I don't care about the availability of spare parts. If it breaks, I will turn it into a lamp.

Purpose? Truck gun. Yes, I know. Never leave a gun in a vehicle. There, said it for you.

So - does anyone have any actual experience with these?

Thanks!

If I recall correctly, you're retired. Buy it! :)

I can't imagine you would lose money on it if you decided you didn't want it. For that price, it seems like a lot of gun for the money. Good truck gun or kitchen defense.;):D

Hard to beat that price.
Recall selling a number of'em, and yep - some had feeding problems. Many did not.
Of course, they'll always be compared to the 870 - and not much will come up to that.
I'd give it a whirl.

This model was subject to a recall. Assuming Rem still keeps the page active, you can input the s/n to verify whether that gun was part of it. Mine wasn't.

If you come visiting without an invitation, odds are you'll be greeted by the muzzle of mine. Mine carries a Viridian green laser/light combo. I love mine and, if I could find another for $150, I'd whip out the cash and offer the seller a kiss. :D

3.5in capabilities not really a factor outside of nontoxic goose pass shooting .

At that price buy it .
