DOB model 10-7

Local gun shop has a 10-7 for sale. It's nickle finish and has rubber grips. Looks to be in decent shape.

Can anyone help me with the date of birth, or the date it left S&W?

Can anyone give me any feedback on the model? Do you own one, do you like it, would you trust it as a CCW?

How is holster selection for it IWB?

Lastly, my dealer has it listed @ $250 no box or papers. Is this a good deal?

I have a 10-5 which wikipedia says was made from 1962-77. In the discussion above someone says the 10-8 was made from 1977-84. my guess is the 10-7 was made in the 70's. They must have been making muptiple models at the same time for this information to be correct. I am a newby at this stuff. But I like my 10-5.

Thanks, I'm trying to debate if I should pull the trigger on this or if I should save a few extra pennies and purchase a new S&W 642 or something of the like ...
