Greetings! I'm trying to identify the type of mold the Hoosier 9mm 147gr flat point bullet may come out of so I can develop some handloads.

Might anyone know much about this bullet, or have any load data that they would be willing to share?

As always, thanks in advance for your help!

I looked at them both. they seem to have two versions.
It looks to be some flavor of custom somewhere between the Lyman and Lee offerings rather than being one or the other.
Being that the Lee is fairly new, there's not much specific data for it. Work from the Lyman cast manual

It is more than likely a Magma Mould to go with a Magma Automatic Casting Machine ... very few commercial casting outfits use anything else
But I don't have a Magma Mould chart ... and can't seem to gaggle one up on the net ... but try Magma for the mould design .

With a 147gr flat point you are going to have to do some measuring to determine how much of the bullet is actually seated within the case: OALs are probably going to need to be a bit longer than those for the XTP and potentially WAY shorter than the 9mm maximum of 1.169".

You will probably need to find out what your firearm (or your shortest 9mm chamber, if you have multiple guns?) will accept. With 147gr 9mm bullets OAL can be problematic as there are two issues at play: remember to start LOW and work up your loads as too much bullet in the case can raise pressures very quickly!

Cheers!

P.S. I have a spare G19 9mm barrel that has a chamber shorter than all the other 9mms I have: this is what I use for the "plink test" to insure my reloads will function in any & all.

I don't know who makes the mold but I have used an identical looking coated bullet. I tried 3.5 gr. of 231 in my Glock 19 with a threaded CDNN barrel (which also has a short chamber) and a friend's suppressor and I had a few cycling problems. I bumped the charge to 3.6 grs. and this load functions fine in the factory barrel. I haven't tried this load with a suppressor.

I have also used this bullet with stiff charges of Power Pistol and gotten impressive velocities. These are loaded a bit longer to take advantage of the Glock chambers.
