Starting off with I don't know the name of the material------other than hard plastic, I've been carrying a Colt "Special Combat Government" in a Blackhawk CQC (Close Quarter Concealment) holster going on 20-25 years--------maybe longer.
There is NO wear of the holster (which is adjustable for damn near everything including the width of your belt), AND there is NO wear of the gun which is finished in that high polish ROYAL BLUE (or whatever they call it---similar to S&W Bright Blue).
That which has worn, more like died of old age, are the Trijicon night sights (3 dot) which don't glow in the dark any more, but ever since I started practicing my "point and shoot" routine, sights are superfluous anyway---unless you're going to start shooting at 50 to 100 yards---which seems a bit much!
