Dog Food--only in U.S.?

Sadie, the Shiba Inu, loves sushi.

She also loves anything off the bone, especially prime rib, which I always hold for her to keep her from splintering it and choking. She likes a bit of anything we're eating too. And Thursdays are her favorite days because she comes to work where the residents give her bits of cheese, liverwurst, and dog treats.

But her "real" food is a 1/4 cup of good quality kibble (Iams, Eukanuba or Taste of the Wild), and a teaspoon of Mighty Dog without gravy, with some warm water mixed in it.

Yeah, she's spoiled. So what? She's my baby. She doesn't have to grow up and learn to support herself.

Sorry, man. I don't make a habit of starving my dogs. I make plenty enough income to afford to not keep table scraps if I don't wish to. My dogs have never had the runs - mostly because I don't feed them junk dog food that is mostly made up of corn that they get virtually no nutrients from - as with Purina's entire line of affordable food. ;) Dogs have been eating nearly exactly the same thing people have for thousands of years. Unless you eat pure shlt like hotdogs and pizza all the time, your dog is going to be just fine.

Now, if you can't afford to feed your dog table scraps, you might want to rethink whether you can afford to treat a dog as well as it deserves. And reconsider whether you have earned it's undying loyalty or not. ;)

BTW, I just gave my dogs some steak I didn't feel like finishing. Ugh, I am so full!

I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. I can buy over 50 pounds of Purina Dog Chow for around $22.00. It lasts for about 2 months. It is cheap, healthy for the dog, convenient, and she loves it. Why in the world would I give my leftovers to my dog? That's why God invented refrigerators and microwaves. The last time I gave my pup some table scraps, she got the runs. And for all of you who think your dog won't touch dry dog food, well guess what, when they are hungry enough they will eat! If my dog doesn't eat her food in 20 minutes, then feeding time is over and she misses out. This doesn't happen, but rarely; usually when she is sick. I am ga-ga over my dog, but she is a dog for heaven's sake!
