Been searching for a quality OWB leather belt or paddle holster for my soon-to-be new-to-me 4566 purchased from another forum member. Thought I had found a great deal on a Don Hume holster but, I didn't read all the details and discovered upon arrival that it is a metal-reinforced duty holster. It will certainly serve the purpose but is a little heavy and overkill, plus getting a belt through the slot where the duty belt goes is difficult.

Anyone use a duty holster for civilian OWB purpose? Or should I resell and look for better options?

I use a Don Hume "Border Patrol" style duty holster as a field holster, when using my tractor, anytime security/retaining the holster is important. It is a little heavy, and it cairries the revolver away from the body a bit so it's not a good concealement option.

Shown with my truck/tractor gun, Rock Island M200:

There are a lot better options for field/concealment, a used Bianchi or Safariland is my choice for most applications, something like this thumbreak retention holster I got for my CZ-75:

I find most of my holsters on Ebay.......
