I am posting this here because it concerns a semi-auto pistol by HK, the CC9. Mods, I didn't know where else to put it so please feel free to move it if this place is not correct.

Summary: I bought the CC9 in July and as of Sunday have fired 1,500 rounds of various types of 124 gr 9mm ammo through it. It has been an absolute dog since the very first magazine, with multiple FTF, failures to go into battery, and pulling up 2 rounds from the mags inside of one. Initially I was told that the gun prefers 124 vs. 115 gr ammo but that didn't make a difference. These failures happened across all 6 magazines I purchased (factory mags, obviously). The gun is on its way to HK service now and gets there tomorrow. The customer service reps have been absolute aces: professional and gentlemen in every respect. I hope to get back the gun I hoped it would be with some explanation of what is wrong (on a number of levels). No, I don't limp wrist.

I joined the HKPro forum. I discussed my concerns and included pictures. I was flamed as a troll, mostly by one of the Mods, while some of the members were actually kinda cruel in their comments - (it must be you, can't be the gun). I wasn't looking for sympathy; I was looking for an explanation. A few advised me to sent it back and that's what I ended up doing.
There was no group support, no "gee that sucks" posts, just more responses that assumed I was the problem - not their precious firearm product. I think mine is either a lemon OR something(s) are very wrong and need to be fixed or replaced. Turnaround time is 1 to 3 weeks - again, no problems at all with customer service.

I am leaving that Forum; no sense of membership, no camarderie, no welcome to new members, it's just pick on the rookie members - and I'm not alone in seeing or believing that.

I will never take THIS forum for granted. It has been quite the opposite, and I'm grateful to be a member here. A true and hearty 'thank you' to all of you who have either read my posts, made great suggestions, and aren't afraid to blame the manufacturer rather than the victim. The Mods here are just as great, too.

Thanks all!

Rich

Hearty.Welcome from NC...you'll find lotta knowledge here. Do READ rules before letting your thoughts cause trouble. Got giged once for not letting better judgement be my guide. Now use 'ignore' switch rather than posting at times.

I gave up visiting any of the HK Forums years ago because of the rabid attacks on anyone who asked any questions that they deemed negative to the brand. I was predominantly interested in Full Auto MP5 information but the snarky responses I read to others' questions kept me from even asking my questions and I moved on.
This group is extremely knowledgeable, more welcoming, friendly and with rare exceptions not true die hard the brand is never at fault fan bois.

Very well said.

I moved this to Firearms and Knives: Other Brands for you. Bummer you've had issues with your new HK.

Have you thoroughly cleaned the chamber?
Did you clean and lube the slide rails and the outside of the barrel??
Did you place a place a drop or two of oil on the front and back of the firing pin and let it soak into the channel???

Yes, all that and more.

I'm glad you posted this. I wanted a CC9 but now I think not. I have a 45C and love it, got a strobing laser sight and drifted the front sight over to the left and it shoots dead center and the tritium sights still work fine. My admiration for HK goes back to to P7's decades ago. If your gun was typical then you saved me the frustration and I'm happy for that.
My current 9 is a S&W 659 that has never missed a beat. In fact the H&K 45 C has never missed a beat and my stainless PPK is perfect as well so far.
If the gun is the problem then I would wager H&K will replace it then I also hope it works perfectly for you. You paid for the best and deserve exactly that.
I picked up my three automatics at auctions for 60% of the list prices in immaculate condition. All 3 have their home here with me and I hope I never need to use them but knowing they will do the job is the requirement.
To add to the reliability of mine. I use the cheapest ammo I can find and even at 30 cents a round they are all perfect. That's garage sale ammo that probably was not stored in the best environments, even traded an extension cord for 107 rounds of .308 and the rest of the bottom of an ammo can of various stuff.

I started here when my brother died and left me some Smith revolvers . I'm not saying I was ignorant , but I was pretty damn close . One of the one's he left me was a 629-2 Mountain Gun , nib . I asked about it and someone asked what dash was it , I asked back what's a dash # and where do I find it . NOT ONE person dogged me out about asking stupid questions . I've been coming back ever since and I don't see myself leaving .

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Glad you told us that.

The members of this forum are hands-down the most welcoming and informative group of people I've ever come to know.

February, 2026 will be 10 years since joining and I look forward to catching up on the forum activities every day.

My only regret is having limited resources to add to my small "accumulation" (it would be a stretch to call it a "collection"…lol) but I admit to learning something new here every day which expands my knowledge base. And, I believe that I've actually made a few "friends" along the way…

I've been on the HKPRO forum for a few years, and never had a problem.

I did see your post about your problems, and it did turn into a crap show. I wasn't involved, but sorry all the same.

I'LL GIVE THIS A BIG AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll go even farther and say that it's the best forum of any kind I've been on. Period. Not only for the high quality of it's members, but also the Big Gorillas rules and the mods hard work to make sure they're followed. happy to be a supporting member of the Best Place on the Web.

Yes, unfortunately there are some gun forums where you have to be around a while to become a member of "the clique". Thankfully, this is not one of them.

The HKPro forum is garbage.

I got banned on there years ago after telling certain members exactly what I thought about their elitist snobbish echo chamber.
It's about as good as AR15.COM. Ban happy Mods on that forum. I will never go back again. They lost a ton of really knowledgeable members over the years.

I joined because I am a fanboy, I'll admit it. Bought my 1st S&W just before I got married. That was almost 34 years ago. Still have the 6904. Only thing I had to do was get a new springs for the decocker/safety on the right side. The marriage has taken a little more but has smoothed out. Just like putting a bunch of rounds through a pistol to loosen it up.:ROFLMAO:

That's sad to hear, Rich. I've been that guy, who was 'dissed' by the longer standing members, not only online but also at a gun club I was the Membership Chairman of in the '70s. Having moved away and returned to visit years later I found the current group VERY snotty and unwelcoming. VERY disappointing, not so much for me but for anyone new who'd walk in there looking for kindred spirits. I was very, VERY involved in that club and was saddened to see how it had fallen. As you say, this forum is a breath of fresh air and I'm happy to be part of it, even if we only do have 3 S&W's to our credit. Ed

P.S. I came very close to buying a VP9 some few years ago. Opted for the Walther PPQ primarily for the trigger. Now I'm even more glad that I did.

Unfortunate you had to endure that. Before leaving though you may want to explain or even copy and paste your post.

It seems most forums have some or a few that have an outspoken attitude and when questioned get all worked up over it. Fortunately I've not seen it here.

I had a P7 that went back for repair decades ago and they fixed it no problem. I hope you get the same service.
