Dont Mess with Wayne Newton

Glad those bums did not hurt him or his family, and they are damn fortunate that Newton tried a warning shot, chasing them off, instead of just pluggin’ em outright. (Which is what I think most of here would have done.)

My opinion is that for the crime of breaking into his home, threatening his wife with a crowbar, and busting up his dogs with a crowbar, the miscreants deserved to have his pistol emptied into their behinds. And then some.

I grew up in Phoenix, where Wayne and his brother Jerry got their start on local TV as the "Rythm Rascals." Jerry was active in ROTC at Phoenix Union H.S., and I at West Phoenix H.S. We met on several occasions related to ROTC activity. In my senior year, I was appointed Phoenix Regimental S-3, or cadet operations officer for all Phoenix units. He seemed to be a good Joe, and quite intelligent.

I am really surprised he is still singing on stage in Vegas. I guess there are still enough older folks going to Vegas that want to see him. Personally I never cared much for his singing.
I am really surprised he shot in the air instead of at the scum burglar that bashed his dog's teeth out with a tire iron.

Yeah, don't mess with Wayne, you run the risk of him trying to sing to you.:eek::eek:

Seriously, we took my then ma-in-law to see him in 2002 and his voice was toast even then.

His voice was toast when I saw him 10 years before you, but it was still an incredibly entertaining show. He is a born performer.

Glaringly, the crucial fact left out of the report - what caliber/make/model firearm did The Midnight Idol cap off at the burglars?

The headline is a bit misleading. It sounds like Newton fired a shot at them as they ran away. The article states he fired a warning shot, then they fled.

Anyone else get that or do I need more coffee? I have stayed at a H.I. Express, but it wasn't last night.

Wayne Newton didn't do anything that any of us wouldn't have done, with the possible (probable?) exception of firing into the air.

Don't understand that at all. Intruder inside my house, threatening family with tire iron? Attacking and injuring my dogs while I have a gun in my hand...you're dead. Seriously...dead. I might need to call my attorney, might have to go downtown and answer a bunch of questions from the police...might even have my easily-replaceable Glock seized. So what? I'll be back at my home soon, still alive and kicking. And the bad guy? Oh, he'll still be dead, make no mistake about that. As in...forever.

Only reason this is news is because it was Wayne Newton. Otherwise...just another day in Second Amendment Country.
