Don't taze me bro, Texas style

Since I live in Texas I will be very interested in how this turns out. If anyone hears the outcome please post it.

Yes it is legal to OC a long gun. However he was in violation of the ordinance since it was LOADED. So silly these little "stunts".

Agreed. It was a silly stunt... and if people keep pulling it, we will lose the ability to OC.

There is a huge difference in the public perception of a guy carrying a holstered pistol and a rifle. A handgun is considered a "defensive" arm, and a rifle usually considered an "offensive" arm (though yes, you can use a rifle defensively, too...). ?

I lived in San Antonio for almost 25 years. I believe this city ordinance is fairly recent. City government itself has apparently become more anti-second amendment over the past few decades.

That makes next to no sense. "If we open carry we will lose the ability to open carry..."
Sounds like there wasn't ever really a right to open carry in the first place.

Shocking story.

As was the recent story about off duty LEO's asking for voluntary DNA samples at traffic checkpoints.

CORRECTION, ON duty officers, assisting the Feds. Nov 2013

"Some drivers along a busy Fort Worth street on Friday were stopped at a police roadblock and directed into a parking lot, where they were asked by federal contractors for samples of their breath, saliva and even blood.
It was part of a government research study aimed at determining the number of drunken or drug-impaired drivers."

It IS legal to collect DNA from someone who has been arrested, apparently, but not from the general populace.

I have zero personal experience with these type of events, but it's not unusual in these type vids to see the police entertaining idiots with endless conversation. The officer started by instructing the guy to put the gun on the ground. Over 10min later the guy still hasn't complied while the officer is debating the law, what other people saw or might do, what ifs... and general babble. SOP?

Seems to me that if a cop tells you to put down a knife or gun it might be a good idea to say ok. Otherwise, why would you not expect to get zapped or worse?

I might not want to taze some guy holding a loaded gun in his hand either. :)

Well there ya go... ;)

At one point the first cop sounded like he got so frustrated with the guy not complying that he was ready to let him go on home.

Put the gun down!
You don't want to put the gun down?
Okay... move along. :D

If no one stands up against the illegal actions of the police/government, then your rights are meaningless. Someone has to take the ride to prove the point.
