My Armslist desktop shortcut opens up to Ohio only, being in Ohio I only see the ones I can get. If the deal is good,I'll travel. So far the furthest I've travelled(from Cleveland area) is 3 hrs/200miles(one way) for a 5946 from a member here.

Armslist, is like any other gun source out there. I also open mine to Ohio, every day. There are good sellers out there. There are sellers trying to sell "Rare" guns that are worth a "Fortune" (not) Some guns have been listed & relisted for months with no change in price.
Come to think of it, similar to a gun show.
I have bought & sold there. Have picked up some beautiful guns.
Do hate the laptops, motorcycles, listed in with guns.
1 gun listed for months at $875. It did not sell, so it was raised to $950. Go figure! I will still check it daily at least once. Sorry for going on! Bob

The Texas Gun Trader posts this message on every listing.

SCAM ALERT Never Send Cash, Check or Money Order to Anyone! SCAM ALERT

The farthest I've traveled for a FTF was up to Dallas from NW of Austin and that was yesterday for a LNIB 696 no dash

Good heavens StakeOut, the only 696 no dash I've ever seen was a picture in the SCSW!!! I think I would have driven to Dallas from West Virginia to buy one!!!

Any chance of a picture??

Best Regards, Les

I've sold a couple and bought a couple from armslist, always FTF and things went smoothly. I did spot an ad for a clean looking Marlin 39a article II listed for a below average price in a town 20 miles away. Sent an email expressing serious interest and giving my phone number for contact and advising that I was local. No response after a couple of days. Then the ad was taken down and relisted so I reported it as "unresponsive/scam". The ad disappeared a day later. I suspect it was a scammer hoping to get money sent on promise of delivery.

I've actually bought four guns on Armlist with no problems over the last two years, however my FFL will only deal with other FFLs. No dealing with individuals. If someone isn't willing to take their guns to a dealer then it's probably a scam.

I've done good on Armslist and have gotten quite a few guns on there. I got them for real world, realistic prices too. We're talking mostly Colts here, and I got them for what they SHOULD cost. Even to this day, my local Armslist still have realistically priced Colts versus the pipe dream internet prices. However, Armslist demands in person meetings. Never send money, make the drive.

I drove 3hrs to get this beauty from an Armslist ad. Most have probably already seen it before, but I like showing it off, so here it is again.
