Doug Koenig SW1911 for $500

For $500?!?! The first thing that comes to my mind on such a gun at that price is "When was it stolen?".

I'd walk away from that one---to answer your question, YES---too good to be true IMO.

Great price, if it is a real listing or for sale in a shop, I'd jump on it.

A price to good to be true? Unless you know this person and are getting the family and friends discount I would beware and take a friend when meeting up with them. Doing a quick browse and Doug Konig 1911 are going for $900 and up and the performance center Doug Konig are around $1400and up used.

Seller says this is the gun. $500 a good deal? Comes with 6 mags, some Wilson.

As mentioned above, terrific deal. Seller is either clueless to prices or, perhaps, is trying to move the gun very quickly for the wrong reasons.

In the Internet era it's so easy to check prices, and a gun being sold online with pictures implies a level of knowledge of the workings of the Web so that I'd be pretty nervous...

Yeah it's kind of mysterious. Seller says he got a lot of offers, some over his asking price of $500, but he decided to sell to me (although I didn't offer more). He asked me if I had a LTC which I do. That seemed to swing his decision toward me. He wants to meet at a well-known gunshop.

Maybe he's an older guy who just doesn't care about the money, is all I can think of. Maybe he likes the fact that I wrote in clear English instead of "Yo homie, I wants the gat."

Or maybe it's sold already. Maybe someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

That's a bit more encouraging.

I saw that gun on our Texas gun board……looks too good to true but you never know….just too many scammers there. The seller has another ad under his user name for an AR and in that ad only wants to sell to a LTC. The inconsistencies in his ads would be a red flag. Good luck.

P.S. the seller has been a gun board member for a couple years which is usually a good sign. The scammers are usually only recent joiners. I have found many deals on TGT, but have also found many a scam.
