I have seen blow-back trigger resets for other handguns but not for the S&W. Has anyone seen this type of system for the M&P Shield?

I have seen the CoolFire system, but that required a barrel change and a new laser. Total cost of the kit is more than half the gun price. I was looking for something that would essentially push the firing pin back over the sear. I started working up such a device. End goal is just to insert a magazine that would do the trick.

Shield only needs about 1/2” of slide pull to reset.

Mine needs about 0.3". Trick is to reach it when a magazine is inserted without jamming the system. I need some time to work out the details.
Expencive, but I have had the Cool Fire package for my M&P 2.0, and have had it for 3 years now with 1000's of cycles on it.
Great little package if you don't mind spending the $.
I still do lots of dryfire just racking the slide for single shot dry fire, but the cool fire is the bees knees and takes seconds to change everything over.
Have also used it many many times to get people into pistol shooting and it worked like a charm.
OP keep us updated on how you make out with your own idea.

Saudade, I do remember seeing that. However there is a caveat... it does not work with pin activated lasers. Sort of messes with the home target range capability.
It is close though, besides not working with the Shield. It would work with my Springfield XD9

Ben Stoeger has training videos on YouTube. He addresses this with his students. I am talking about dry fire practice without any kind of Mantis training type system. Stoeger says that there are many of his students who use TDA pistols, e.g. Sig P226, S&W 5906, Beretta 92, etc., who dry fire with a full double action trigger pull on every shot. So have I always done. He found in his classes that those students were slower on their split times. He has had success in improving these students by having them memorize the reset feel and just pretend. This works for him because his classes emphasize acquiring the sights rapidly and switching between targets.

I picked up the Strikeman System and I have to admit I am really impressed in the way their laser cartridges vastly improve the "dry fire" practice, especially in 9mm with a SA/DA pistol (in my case, a CZ75 & a FNX).

I'm looking at that to go with my cool fire trainer system.
I've been working with the Laser Academy system right now and it can be very glitchy so I've been really hesitant to pay the extra $40 for all the rest of the options on it. The strikeman system seems to get a lot better reviews everywhere I've looked.
I agree, that these systems are also a lot of fun.

The "pro" (or, whatever they call it?) seems almost to be designed like the peletron in that it takes a "monthly $ubscription" to play, participate and/or compete...

P.S. I also have a ceiling spotlight with a lens that reacts to a laser shot, so I can train to my heart's content without having to set up the Strikeman target and cell connection... Estimated 1500-2000 "shots" from 3 x AG4 batteries!
