According to Dutch law you can get a weapon permit if you are older than 18, are a member of a shooting range for more than 1 year and of course your behaviour must be unspoken (no criminal record). In the first year of your weapon permit you can only own 1 (one) gun, which you have proven to be skilled in. The second year of your weapon permit you can in total own 5 guns. No fully automatic weapons and no assault rifles either. Why am I telling all this: I'm bit jealous of you if I see what you can legally own..
Owning a gun in The Netherlands is a huge privilige, because legislation is very rigid. Should I move to USA :) ?

You need to think of your Dutch friends, the goverment likes that you take your guns elsewhere.
They want a gunfree zone (we have the same problem in Sweden)
The more law abiding citizens with gunpermits the better for you and your friends.

But i feel your pain :o i want's to move to
I just hate the winter here in Sweden, i want a warm and dry climate

It makes me very happy to see people in other countries understand and appreciate our Constitution. You all are right about the World government agenda to eventually eliminate all firearms from the hands of the people. This way their tyranny can be inflicted without resistance. Keep fighting for your right to own any sort of firearms. Anything is better than a stick or a rock.

Resesrch our states if you move here. Some states are worse the Holland! You wouldnt want to do a huge move like that only to find out you cant even own a rubberband!!!

Come on over Goliath! We would love to have you here with us.
Although... it might be very hard to leave all those amazingly beautiful Dutch women behind. :D

I also agree with Qball on working to expand your rights and change your country's gun policies. Don't give up!

At the moment the Dutch gun law is that complicated and stupid that you can't explain it to a foreigner.
If you hear what is happening over here you will laugh your sock off.

It is all about symbol politics where the politicians can say "we did something on the Dutch gun law".

If you become a member of a shooting association. You are only aloud to shoot with .22 guns. You aren’t aloud to shoot semi-automatic rifles.

After one year membership. You are only allowed to buy a so called Olympic firearm. Only in .22.

For the second year after one year permit. You are allowed to buy a 9mm pistol or a .44 blackpowdergun.

After 3 year membership and 2 year permit you finally could buy a semi-automatic rifle like the Colt AR 15.

Yes. Holland is that safer. Everybody can go to sleep safely now. They have solved the problem.

This is the Dutch gun law in a Nutshell.

Yeah, but come over here and try to get een uitsmijter of een oude en een pils.

The Netherlands has its attractions, the girls not the least of them.

Georgia is good.

Things you may not have. The photo is not up to Forum standards, but I have my S&W revolvers. How long may be another question.

I can get the uitsmijter and the pils. But I am not sure about de oude.

So, what did he say? Is pils beer?

As for Dutch women, I think model Doutzen Kroes is arguably the most beautiful chick in the world, although much depends on personal perception. But we have similar women in Texas. And the Czech Republic is also noted for hot women.

Anyone who doesn't know what Doutzen looks like can Search for her and see her in many YouTube videos. She's a Victoria's Secret Angel, quite modest for someone with her looks, who earns about $6 million USD a year. But she's probably afraid of guns...

That combination is called a "Kopstoot"

Engineer 1911 Al those revolvers are aloud in the Netherlands.
But when you a first starter in the shooting sport you have to wait 2 year before you can even buy one. And then only in the .38/.357 models.

For the bigger calibers you have to wait just an other year.

Right. Becouse of this dump ruels I feel very safe now.

These rules do not count for me. I do shoot more than 35 years and can buy every gun wich is used in the KNSA diiplines.

The knsa is the association. Who made rules about the shooting sport in Holland. I am not a big fan of them. You have to be a member of this association. Otherwise you can't shoot at all.

It is a great country Holland.
