Here's another one of my scores from Bedford. It's a 4 screw Pre-37. I thought it would fit in with my fixed sight post-war collection, even though it's not satin blue. When I got home with it, I looked it over and thought about something. I went and fetched a magnet and sure enough, it has a number matching alloy cylinder! Bonus here, they missed that in the description. I wouldn't have shot it anyway.

It's 28729.

Thanks for the s/n. I've added yours to the database.

The nearest one lower than yours is 28714. I don't know much about it, but it shipped in September 1953.

The nearest one higher than yours is 28793, it has a steel cylinder, the retainer screw on the bug screw, and shipped on October 20, 1954 -- very late compared to others nearby.

Does the s/n stamped inside the right diamond walnut stock match the butt and cylinder? How 'bout the barrel's s/n? Thanks for any additional info.

The barrel and stocks both match. The appropriate red box does not. It has 28532 on the bottom in grease pencil, with a regular .38 Chiefs Special end label with Airweight stamped on it.
