So next month I'll have 40 years with the same company. I'm almost 66 so the scary part of health care is minimal. I'm pretty sure I'm going to pull the lever and retire during the first quarter of 2017.
I remember when I was first employed and started getting 401K information that listed my retirement date as 2016. What that's like forever - but sadly it wasn't and father time has started the setting sun.
Alright enough of that stuff. I always wanted a Jeep so I decided I would get one as a early retirement gift/project.
Here she is.......1997 Wrangler TJ. The last couple of days have been a lot of fun with the top off.

Jeeps, Willy's to be precise. I guess I retired at 17, that was when I bought the first of many Willys/Jeeps.

I like yours, very sharp.

I have a very nice 95. We only use it deer season and put the bikini top on for summer use. The last set of tires look new from 10 feet but were dry rotted bad. Just put new ones on. we are thinking of selling it. I've had a Jeep since the late 60's I'm sort of torn up over this one.

And congratulations on retirement. you will like it. I worked until 67 and should have retired sooner. More of the hindsight stuff.

If you've managed to work for the SAME COMPANY for 40 years you deserve as many Jeeps as you want. Congratulations on the one you bought -- she's a beauty.

Beat me to it. Fact is, very few people anymore can say they've worked with the same company for forty years, or even thirty, the way companies change hands and move overseas.

You're a lucky guy. You're going to love retirement.
