What are the odds that one of you gentleman may know of a source for an ejector spring for a 3rd. model S&W in .44 Russian. Barring an original, do you think a spring from one of the modern Italian copies like Uberti may work or is there a modern commercial spring that may be suitable? I'd appreciate any pointers.
UPDATE: Having received the pistol from the auction house, I find that, contrary to what they told me, it's not the ejector spring, but the cam that activates the ejector mechanism when the pistol is broken open. I've ordered the cam so I hope that is the solves the problem and I don't discover any more surprises. I am disappointed in the auction house as I feel they were deceptive, either intentionally or not, in the description of the pistol.
