So apparently my new thing is polishing my stainless revolvers while I watch TV. Does anybody else here polish their stainless revolvers? Pics and pointers are definitely welcome.

Na, I use that time to dry fire at the bad guys. :D
Have done it before though.

Stainless steel and polishing go together like peanut butter and jelly. Yes, I polish my SS revolvers but just as the last step when cleaning them. Mother's Mag Polish is what I use and it does a great job too. Just yesterday bought, cleaned, shot, cleaned again and polished an '03 649-5. Looks real purdy right now.

Yours look beautiful!

MOTHERS GETS THEM SO PRETTY THAT I HATE TO SHOOT THEM…..

That's what I use. My guns are pretty scratched but I'm slowly getting them buffed out. I also have a model 64 to get started on.

Polishing doesn't go well for me. I don't have the eye, technique, or tools for it. I've tried it and wasn't satisfied with my results. Afterward, I was stuck with "Polisher's Regret"! Can't take it back...

That is how I felt at first. Now I sit in front of the TV and pick a section of them to work on and just polish it bit by bit. You can't expect them to be squared away in one session. I have a retarded amount of hours invested in mine but I don't think of it as work as much as an excuse to handle my revolvers. I imagine they would be farther along if I were better at polishing but that's ok.

Tools? All one needs is some Mother's Mag polish and two small terry cloth towels. One to apply and rub in with and one to wipe off and dry.

Flitz polish for me...Love the stuff and it works on brass plastic all kinds of things

This has been my experience as well. The other component that I also apparently lack is patience.

Yes I have spent hours polishing several 686s with Mother's Mag. I am on my second container now. I got started after watching a YouTube video by Yankee Marshall. I will admit to liking some bling on a gun or two. Certainly not all. Just one or two, sort of BQ guns.

After getting a really good result on my first effort the gun was sold to buy a plus version.

I think the hi polish affect fades if not maintained. I have wondered if a number of coats of Ren Wax would stop the fading. That would be great.

My next candidate is a 629-nd 2.5 which is already impressive. A high polish, short of a mirror finish, would really make it stand out. I suspect I'd carry it more often. :D:D:D

This is the prospect... It would need both Flitz and Mother's Mag.
