While going through my collection of old gun magazines, I came across an interesting article. In the January 1960 issue of 'Guns' there is an editorial written by Elmer Keith entitled "Anti-Gun Legislation". Although the editorial is 53 years old, it could just as well have been written today.

Elmer Keith wrote half a century ago, "Registration of firearms is the first step toward a Police State and also to the ultimate confiscation of all personal weapons."

Anti-gun legislation is not something new. We have always had, and will continue to have, those among us who seek to restrict or abolish our 2nd amendment rights. Elmer Keith understood the consequences of anti-gun legislation.

as always...elmer is on top of things...i'm rereading "sixguns by keith" now so i'm kinda elmerized....:D
of additional interest is the bannermans ad...i remember as a kid when they were open and selling literally tons of authentic civil war items....i still have a few cartridge boxes i purchased from them

Go get em Elmer! I have been quoting Elmer since I first read Sixguns back in the early 70's. One of my favorites is "A heavy chunk of lead where it will do the most good" in response to overcrowded prisons and repeat offenders on the streets! A true American Icon!!!
