The sad thing is the general public do not know the difference.

Going to guess that this was directed more at the dude on the photo's left.

A military rifle that was used in armed conflict. It certainly is an assault rifle.

Minie balls killed more Americans than any fancy black AR 15 in 223.

Glorieta Pass battle was just down the road from ABQ.
New Mexico was a split state, but had some serious Confederate tendencies early in the war.

As for the youngster carrying the rifled musket, my humble opinion is that fellow is sending the right message, unencumbered by a bunch of Chinese made nylon and 300 rounds of Russian-made ammo.

Reading George Orwell taught the left that if you control language you control everything else.

I hate the term assault rifle and refuse to use it. It's a drummed up anti gun term. The gun industry now uses it and I hate that. It just gives the term credibility. In my mind every firearm is an assault weapon. Think about it. Guns are designed to kill or assault their target. Are some better at it than others? Sure. But man invented the firearm to kill. Not to punch holes in targets.

Since the media and the Dems can't really define " assault rifle " I guess anything that fires a projectile is fair game to their nonsense reporting .

With the current state of affairs in our wonderful nation I look at as weapon as "defensive" as an owner. I am not planning (nor are any of us) on "assaulting" anyone, any beach, any town, any neighboring state, any country (including our own). But the press would certainly love to have folks believe otherwise.
