Anyone have an EO Tech, MRDS sight?

I have a S&W M&P 9mm CORE, it came with a half off coupon for an EO Tech MRDS sight.

If anyone has pros/cons on this product please advise.

Thanks,

Fred

I found a 9mm core two weeks ago at a gun show. Used the coupon for the eotech/insight mdrs. Mounted it and went to the range today. No problem sighting it in and very accurate. The downside of this sight is that it is too tall to co-witness with the iron sights other than that i am happy. A ll of S&W's info leads you to believe that any of the sights for which mounting plates are supplied will co-witness

I am not pleased to hear this.

Did you send coupoun to eotech and recieved sight already?

They told me over three weeks ago that it would ship June 12th!

What color did you get?

Thanks,

Fred

I mailed in the coupon that came with the gun and had the sight in ten days.I got it in black. Great sight, easy to see the dot. If it co-witnessed the iron sights it would be perfect.

mickeydonofrio,
Thanks for the reply. So can you see the sights at all thru sight or does dot not align with sight being higher in window? Was your sight tan or black?

dannybot,
Yes there is a coupon for 1/2 off LIST price of eotech mrds. Coupon and payment is sent to eotech. Cost of sight with shipping was $335

happyhunter, the body of the sight is just barely taller than the rear sight. You cannot see the rear sight at all through the window. other than that the sight is great. Clear, easy to see the dot, accurate.had it sighted in with ten shots .Fine for range but lack of buis limits carry use.

How's the mrds holding up? Any issues other than not co witness?

Interesting. I got one yesterday for $300. it was a divorce sale. I do want to end up with a co-witness as I intend to use this cun for carry and attend one of Suarez's classes next year. However I'm at a military post ond one of my SF buddies tells me that he just zeroed the sight at 25 meters then used a black Sharpie to put a dot on the back of the optic and if the red dot goes out he can use the dot as a pretty good emergency sight. I'll do that. The other shing I'm doing is to see if Warren can make a set of sights a 8th of an inch higher than the issue sights.
