I bought one immediately wishing it would be what I hoped for. First, it’s not a micro. It’s slightly larger than the 380EZ. I’ve shot S&W guns for over 40 years qualifying on various law enforcement courses of fire. Currently retired and qualifying annually for LEOSA, I shot this for qualifying the day I bought it and shot a perfect score. At 70, I’ll take that for sure. Actually, the Equalizer is the nicest gun I’ve ever shot. It racks easier than the EZ9, more like the EZ380. Way, way easier that M&p9 M2.0 compact 3.6. Shoots as smooth as a full sized Beretta 92fs. The gun really mitigates recoil. Sights are what they are but dead on. Zero malfunctions. I need the Uplula loader included to load the mags but you have 10, 13 and 15-round mags included in the box rather than 8 rounds like the single stack EZs. Its also cut for red dot optics. It’s not a mishmash of other models, it’s a natural progression and improvement over anything else on the market. It’s designed for 70 year old shooters like me. Arthritis impeding hand strength, eyesight not what it used to be, etc, etc. Yes, it is what I’d hoped it would be. It gives me hope I can continue to carry and operate a great gun for self-defense. (I certainly wouldn’t decide yea or nay on any gun based on what some marketing shmuck decided to call it. That’s just silly.) Of course, this is my opinion.Your opinion may vary. Just hoping aftermarket catches up with it soon, night sights, holster, etc.
Just put my Crimson Trace Laser Guard from my 380EZ on my new Equalizer.
Fits perfectly. Thank you Smith and Wesson.
