Have 18-8 stainless steel round standoffs, with a
.160" hole in the middle.
Will be milling the center with a 9/32"(.28125") end mill
to a depth of .160" or a bit deeper.
This will create a counterbore for the Fillister head screws.
The mill's slowest speed is 1000rpm.
Before ordering the 9/32" carbide end mills, thought it
would be wise to check with the Forum's Master Smiths.
Four flutes are available if that will work.
Thanks for your help.
RT.
Bought a bag of escutcheons from Brownells, back in the
late '70s.
The rims are too thin, approx .025" thick,
and overall not robust enough for this
X Frame project.
Pic of Brownells.
Haven't found any appropriate sized ones available.
