Ever find anything in a gun??

i did an NFA conversion on a Rem. 870 that had a name and address in Kansas, on a paper in the stock.

In 2000, I purchased a Winchester Model 12, 20 ga. in Minnesota. When I got home with it I took it all apart for a thorough cleaning. In the buttstock hole channel down to the stock bolt I found a '35 or '36 hunting license. I used e-mail and offered to send it to Clay County's Historical Society for free. They didn't even reply to my e-mail. I will amend this post with the person's name this evening after I find where I stored the license. ............ Big Cholla

Ok, found it; RESIDENT SMALL GAME HUNTING LICENSE, No. 124461, 1936. County of "Clay". Issued to Mr. Otto Haarstad of Hawley, Minnesota. He was 27 years old at the time of license purchase.

Also with the license was a complete set of 'small game' tags and a post card for reporting the 'take' to the Minnesota Fish and Game.

I found a red WD40 straw wound up in the action of a Marlin 39. Looked like someone stuck the tip in to give it a squirt, and it wouldn't come back out. Each cycle of the lever sucked it in a little more. It wrapped itself around the lever bolt. It was a little sluggish, but still worked OK.

Gunstock on my A-5 has my business card with date of purchase and date and species of first duck shot with it. Too lazy to pull it off and see what kind of duck it was-but when I'm long gone somebody is going to find it.

Huge..dead cockroaches in the buttstock..cleaning kit hole of a Rock Island made 1903 rifle.

A spare firingpin rolled up in a rag in the cleaning kit hole of a SSA Lee Enfield No1 MkIII rifle. I got all excited thinking it had a cleaning kit, oiler and stuff..but no..just a firingpin.

Oh..the usual issue tag under a Swiss K31 buttplate too.
